The cute meet

June 2024: A famous "friend" in common introduced us and it was a "match".  Few music messages after, the cute boy took me on a date, opened the door for me and said with a smile: "Let's go".  We took a long walk along the beautiful promenade in Dun Laoghaire. A pint of Guinness and a nice talk about Marvel movies later, he looked me in the eyes and he said: "Marry me",  as from now on I don't need to go to the cinema alone :) After, this he took my hands and we went for another walk.  Looking at the sea he kissed me. And that's how it all started.

July: A month of many Brazilian barbeques, mountain walks and adventures.  We introduced our kids (humans met the furry black monster). It was a match made in heaven. 

August (my birthday): My best celebration! He made a BBQ for me and sang Happy B-Day in Bulgarian ;)

Later in August: I slowly started to move all my stuff into his... our house. During that period some of his stuff magically disappeared, replaced by much nicer new ones ;)

September: One of the most eventful months. Our first family trip to Mallorca. Beach and pool and food and repeat. Followed by our first trip as a couple. Beautiful beaches and tasty Greek food. Another flight took us to Bulgaria where he took the courage and asked my parents and my sister for their blessing. And at the end I got my first ring. Brazilians like to give many rings lol.

October: A new feature has been activated. He became passionate about DIY (Do It Yourself) activities (inspired by me of course). Our house became a home and we made the backyard a garden...where a lot of pots found their forever home.

The rest, as they say, is history (or herstory).

The proposal

Planning a surprise proposal for somebody who doesn't like surprises poses a set of unique challenges. And at the same time I had a lot of things going on, became an Irish Citizen (hold this information), changing jobs.

So the first step was to get the famous Ring of Power.  And for someone with a good fancy taste, this was a challenge, but after few tentative I got the right one, and thanks to  Ellena (my daughter) for hiding the precious package.

In December 02/2024,  was the ceremony for my Irish citizenship, and this was the best moment to planning everything. So I booked a weekend in Cork and then Killarney for the ceremony.

November 30/2024, we woke up early and headed to Cork, where we stopped to see some castles, the country side of Ireland, and finishing at the beautiful English Market in Cork City.

We bought some delicatesses from the market and went back to hotel to enjoy some wine, (btw what lovely hotel). When we arrived I didn't let her do anything. Instead I found this beautiful living room with a view and booked it just for us. So we set the table, some bread, some cheese and olives, real feast.

Then I pretended that I had forgotten something in the bedroom, where I got the ring and went back to the living room, where she was sitting nervous but looking stunning.

I went down on one knee, in front of her. I looked her in the eyes, and started my speech( I have a recording but we won't share it. That's what she said ;)), and asked her if she would marry me (officially this time). After a long silence and a tear in her eyes she finally said YES!

And here we are preparing everything to celebrate this happy moment with all of you.
